The Lightning Blade is an enhanced form of the Chidori with the same effects and drawbacks, but more concentrated. It is said to have gained its name after Kakashi split a bolt of lightning with it. Because the Chidori is already powerful on its own, the Lightning Blade requires better chakra control, which is exemplified in its appearance. Chidori is A-rank while Raikiri is S-rank. My god..!!Now you know the difference..!!Now stop arguing with Raikiri and Chidori..!!

Wow… It’s funny… people though that the people that were right were saying kakashi’s last name was raikiri…lol Raikiri is the name of the attack, not the last name of kakashi… Raikiri is kakashi’s attack, chidori is sasukes. The scene is from the chunin exams, directly after kakashi seals sasuke’s cuse mark, and orochimaru enters. >.> Silly people that watch the show in english… Lighning Blade is only what they call it in english, with those evil, crappy voices… >.<

Just stfu and read the manga or watch the show! Kakashi himself explains that chidori and raikiri(wich translates to either lightning edge or blade.) is the same move. Kakashi once cut through lightning using chidori, thus giving it the NICKNAME raikiri.

Kakashi himself explains this during the finals of the chuunin exams while Sasuke-teme is about to use it on Gaara. If you don’t believe me just look it up in the afore mentioned episode.
